Company profile
An independent E&P focused on offshore West Africa.
CAP Energy Plc was incorporated in the United Kingdom in 2005. The company’s upstream business focuses on operated offshore exploration in Senegal and Guinea-Bissau.
CAP runs a lean corporate team supported by experienced geoscience, reservoir, drilling and offshore specialists. The portfolio is concentrated in Senegal and Guinea-Bissau, allowing the team to stay closely involved in the technical work on all three licences.
Strategy
Our upstream strategy is to target conventional hydrocarbons in frontier regions, using extensive geological and geophysical screening to identify high-potential opportunities. We seek to maintain operatorship and lead the technical work programme to unlock significant commercial resources and advance discoveries through the exploration and appraisal cycle towards development and commercial production.
Choose acreage carefully
CAP entered the MSGBC Basin in 2013 following regional geoscience work. Its initial interest in the Djiffere licence holder followed in February 2014, ahead of Senegal’s major offshore oil discoveries later that year.
Stay operator
CAP operates each licence and holds a majority interest in all three. That keeps technical priorities and work programmes in CAP's hands.
Do the work before the well
Seismic interpretation and independent technical review guide prospect evaluation and preparation for exploration drilling.
